Background: What Is the GA-2100K?
Casio America officially launched the G-Shock GA-2100K "Smoke Dial" series in the United States on February 5, 2026. The line is a direct evolution of the GA-2100 — widely known among enthusiasts as the "CasiOak" for its octagonal bezel geometry that draws comparisons to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Introduced in 2019, the GA-2100 has become one of G-Shock's most important contemporary platforms and one of the most modded watch bases in the aftermarket community.
For this new drop, Casio leaned into nightlife culture. The design brief drew from smoke machines, laser light shows, and the visual atmosphere of electronic music festivals. The result is a GA-2100 variant built around translucence, contrast, and glow.
The Three Models
The GA-2100K launches in three colorways, each with a matte translucent resin case and integrated strap paired with a glossy black dial and neon accent colors:
- GA-2100K-1A — Smoky gray transparent case and strap with soft green accents on the hour markers and hands.
- GA-2100K-2A — Icy blue transparent build with bright orange accents on the black dial.
- GA-2100K-5A — Warm amber-brown translucent case and strap with red dial accents.
All three use Neobrite lume on hands and indices, reinforcing the glow-in-the-dark club aesthetic Casio was going for.
Key Specs
The GA-2100K shares the standard GA-2100 module and case dimensions: 48.5 × 45.4 × 11.8 mm, weighing 51 g. It runs on the 5611 module with Carbon Core Guard structure. Features include world time for 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer, five daily alarms, and an hourly time signal. Notably, Casio fitted the GA-2100K with a dual-LED lighting system — separate Super Illuminator LEDs for the analog face and the digital display, each selectable at 1.5 or 3 seconds duration. Water resistance is rated to 200 meters.
US Availability and Price
All three models are priced at $135 each and are available at Casio's US online store. Casio confirmed via social media that the watches are also stocked at the brand's physical retail location in SoHo, New York. The series had already launched in the UK and other markets before its US arrival. European release in markets such as Germany is expected to follow at an RRP of €129.
The Mod Angle: Why This Matters for Customizers
The GA-2100K's translucent shell opens a compelling new canvas for the mod community. The semi-opaque resin catches light differently from a standard opaque case, meaning aftermarket metal bezels, chapter rings, and custom dials will produce visual results that standard GA-2100 bases cannot replicate. The contrast between a translucent smoky case and a polished stainless steel mod kit — like the kind offered at Casioak Studio — is genuinely new territory.
The GA-2100K is fully compatible with existing GA-2100 and GA-2110 series mod kits, including SKXMOD and Hontao aftermarket components. Because the case dimensions are unchanged, all existing bezel, strap, and dial replacements carry over. For customizers who want the Smoke Dial aesthetic as a starting point before applying metal upgrades, this is one of the most interesting base watches Casio has dropped for the platform in years.
